たどく・多読とは

Why I Run the Reading Challenge

Tadoku ("多ta" = a lot, "読doku" = to read) means learning a language through extensive reading — absorbing vocabulary and grammar naturally from stories.

This isn't about speed or competition. It's about building a habit, one page at a time — and you're not doing it alone. Our community gives you encouragement, accountability, and inspiration along the way.

Let's enjoy stories, support each other, and build the habit of tadoku together!

2

Before Start

Choose your book, set your goal, and share it with the community

3

Weeks 1–4

Read a little every day, and join weekly mini-challenges & meetups. You don't need to finish the book — just keep showing up

4

Week 5

Share your progress and finish strong together

What Should I Read?

Read Whatever Excites You

You have the freedom to select your own book or content — stories, manga, magazines, podcast transcriptions, social media posts, etc., whether paper books, e-books, or online publications.

Tip for beginners: If you're not yet accustomed to reading Japanese books, choose something easier than your current level. If the content is too difficult, you'll become stressed and won't be able to read through to the end. Keep this in mind to make the challenge fun and enjoyable, while still improving your Japanese.
